What Inspires Me to Write
I often become inspired to write a story because a simple idea or even a phrase catches and holds my attention. For instance, I might observe people who for complex reasons lead double-lives, and others' confusion at not knowing how to categorize them. I might focus on the insight a metaphor I came across has about going through life. Or sometimes I just become interested in a silly situation I imagined, like an owl couple running a cleaning business for other birds. In all these cases, a feeling or idea stands out so much that it compels me to craft it into a full story.
I hope readers come away from my fiction having felt something meaningful, learned a new perspective, or escaped into satire for a few moments.
Featured Publications

"The Story of a Story" published in Barzakh Magazine
My fiction, The Story of a Story, has a meta structure that makes readers question how and why they read fiction, by presenting and commenting on a character who leads a double-life behind his wife's back.
"Dial-a-Bird" published in The Headlight Review
My humorous short story, Dial-a-Bird, is about a cleaning service run by owls and staffed by various bird species, which leaves something to be desired when Billy the parrot calls to request their services.
"The Central String" published in the Ginosko Literary Journal
My short story, The Central String, is about a young man who realizes how love is the central string to which everything around it resonates.
